    Storyline:20世纪80年代初，中国人民渐渐从十年动乱的灾难中复苏，正开始展望充满希望和幸福的新生活。在北京的一条胡同中，居住着一户普通人家，心直口快的刘母（韩影 饰）含辛茹苦拉扯两个女儿长大。长女慧芳（张凯丽 饰）善良孝顺，她喜欢上了同工厂出身知识分子家庭的王沪生（孙松 饰），于是不顾母亲的反对与之结为夫妻。婚后的生活磕磕绊绊，不同家庭和文化背景让夫妻俩的相处充满芥蒂，慧芳收养了一名弃婴，取名小芳，同厂爱慕她的宋大成则尽心帮助刘家打理一切。　　平凡人物的一生虽然充满磨难与考验，但是刘慧芳的经历让我们相信：好人一生平安。
