    Storyline:居家男人兼电脑分析师乔治•格雷夫斯（Thomas Cavanagh 饰）迎来了他四十岁的生日。在这个后半生的起点上，事业有成且家庭美满的乔治却对未来感到阵阵不安。他担心妻子不忠和朋友的虚情假意，害怕一双儿女误入歧途，甚至生活中微小的细节都能引起他阵阵担忧。 　　生日的第二天，乔治在妻子珍妮（Kathleen York 饰）的陪同下来到医院做例行的肠道透镜检查。但这项普通的检查却引起了严重的医疗事故，变成植物人，从此他的大脑开始经历无法控制和忍受的噩梦，最终男主角选择在自编自导自演的噩梦中自杀，结束噩梦的同时也结束了自己在真实世界中的生命。
