Storyline:美国遭受了10.5级地震，西海岸几乎被毁灭殆尽。地震学家萨曼塔发现了更加恐怖的事情：地震有可能威胁到最大的核反应堆，如果核反应堆爆炸的话，那么数以百万的人们都将死去。萨曼塔和美国总统都认为只有一个人能解决这个问题，那就是萨曼塔的父亲希尔，希尔在几年前就曾预言今天有可能会发生这样的灾难。不过他现在已在拉斯维加斯的地震中下落不明，萨曼塔的首要任务就是必须找到父亲，制止核爆炸。
