    Storyline:清末广东陈村有一米商陈裕隆（刘兆铭）中年得子，取名梦吉（温兆伦）。梦吉小时因受雷响惊吓，致使不能说话。邻家金如遂反悔指腹为婚的承诺，并与女银凤（曾华倩）迁居省城。　　后梦吉得盲公出尘子启蒙，恢复聪明伶俐、能言善道的性格，但因锋芒太露，放在私垫不得老师疼爱。反而木讷的陈冠一（彭文坚）生得唇红齿白，最得老师欢心，连女扮男装的山城之女杜二妹（周海媚）亦对他倾心，而梦吉又对二妹心存爱慕，一幕幕爱情游戏，由是展开。　　机缘巧合下，梦吉与二妹逃难往省城，重遇前未婚妻银凤及已在朝廷做官的冠一，此时银凤一心想做知府夫人，对捐官的冠一关怀备至，但是荒唐镜设计“陷害”梦吉，令他刚好见到银凤出浴，冠一碍於面子与银凤分手，银凤一腔真情转移到梦吉身上，吉父嫌弃二妹山贼出身，极力支持银凤，另一方面梦吉怀疑二妹对冠一旧情未了，四人关系错综复杂，银凤和二妹各自为夺梦吉欢心各出奇招，争风...
