Storyline:草间大作乘船返回日本途中，于海上遭到怪物袭击，全船沉没。草间大作与另一生还乘客岚十郎漂流至附近荒岛。他们发现岛上是由宇宙人哥罗丁大帝领导的世界犯罪集团－BF团的秘密基地。草间大作与岚十郎发现此基地正在完成一具拥有智能电脑的巨型机器人GR1－铁甲人。草间大作其后发现用于操控铁甲人的手表型传讯器，更意外地用自己的声音启动了铁甲人。从此草间大作便成了铁甲人的操纵者。之后草间大作加入了岚十郎所属的麒麟情报局（Unicorn）。对抗BF团征服世界的野心。
